Google’s dream lead Sunder Pichai will now also steer the parent company Alphabet Inc. after CEO and President Larry Page and Sergey Brin announced resignations.

Sunder Pichai who has been the chief for the search engine, Google since 2015 has been handed over the reins to the parent company Alphabet Inc. after Google co-founders and the major role players at Alphabet Page and brin announced that they would now like to sit back and just play the roles of advisories to the parent company retaining their positions in the board.

In an official blog on Tuesday, Page and Brin Stated, “While it has been a tremendous privilege to be deeply involved in the day-to-day management of the company for so long, we believe it’s time to assume the role of proud parents—offering advice and love, but not daily nagging!”

Now with Google, Sunder will also hold the most important chair of Alphabet, the nucleus to a huge buffet of businesses. Accepting and appreciating his responsibilities as the new CEO of Alphabet, Sunder Pichai tweeted:

“I’m excited about Alphabet’s long term focus on tackling big challenges through technology. Thanks to Larry & Sergey, we have a timeless mission, enduring values and a culture of collaboration & exploration – a strong foundation we’ll continue to build on”

Sundar, An IIT Kharagpur and Stanford Graduate, has been the face of Google’s main business since the year 2015. He is stated as the biggest and the most successful India CEO at the global level. However, Page and Brin are still considered as influential figures and are compared in par with legends like Bill Gates and Steve Job. Both co-founders stepping down as CEO and President marks the end of an era. But they continue as the Board of Directors and Co-founders.

The 47-year-old, Sunder takes charge of Alphabet at a very crucial and challenging period as it faces unprecedented scrutiny, with governments from five continents putting forward their demands of safeguards and receiving more taxes for the world’s largest online advertising company.

Alphabet is the parent company which owns over a dozen companies that include Google and the self-driving car concept business Waymo and the healthcare company Verily. Alphabet came into existence in the year 2015, around the same time Pichai was appointed as the CEO of Google.

A man of unaffected vision and the one of the most successful CEO in the world will take up this new challenge as a responsibility and has stated to still work in the shadow of advisory of Page and Brin who still remain as the members of the board. To this Page and Brin added,
“We’ve never been ones to hold on to management roles when we think there’s a better way to run the company. And Alphabet and Google no longer need two CEOs and a President. Going forward, Sundar will be the CEO of both Google and Alphabet. He will be the executive responsible and accountable for leading Google, and managing Alphabet’s investment in our portfolio of Other Bets.”

Since 2015, the biggest search engine Google has grown to the highest under Pichai. The market cap of Google has grown from $473 billion to $910 billion and the revenue from $74.5 billion to $136 billion.

The entire world looks up to Sunder Pichai to hold the prime role at Alphabet and Sunder himself is excited too and looks ahead to making moves towards creating better technologies for the world.
